We have been visiting my Grandparents in September for the past 5 years and I have come to learn that Belfast in September can be very temperamental so gloves and hats are a must as well as a jeans and t-shirts! I always pack light because I know the ex-pat in me will come out and buy lots of goodies, so layering is the key!
We went for 3 days, so I packed 2 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of shoes a couple of t-shirts, a shirt, a cardigan and a jumper. It tends to get chilly in September so I also packed my hat and scarf (both hand knitted by my amazing Mum!) For one of the evenings we went out for dinner so I brought a dress and a little evening clutch to wear with some tights. I brought 2 pairs of comfortable flats because I knew we would be walking around town lots.
My packing tips are to roll all of your clothing to make more space if needed. On the way out I didn't really need to as my case wasn't very full, but after a trip to Space NK (did you know that it started in Belfast?) the rolling techniques were needed!
Look out for my what's in my carry on post to find out what toiletries I packed! What do you like to pack for weekend get aways?
