Travelling to India: Packing My Beauty Essentials

As you're reading this I will have just landed on the exotic shores of Mumbai in India. I'm spending 10 days exploring the city and you have no idea how excited I am. India has long been on the top of my list of countries to visit, and with super cheap flights spotted on Skyscanner I couldn't resist the deal. Obviously with a climate that's very different to the dreary grey back in the UK, this trip requires a whole different host of beauty essentials that I'll be packing with me...

My trip to Mumbai coincides with the peak heat of summer. This means there'll be scorching temperatures of around 40ºC and super humid weather as the country awaits the monsoon (good timing... :S!). For this reason I thought I'd share with you a small selection of the products I'll be bringing with me to help keep my skin and hair in tip top condition.

With heat comes dryness. I'll be packing body moisturisers like my favourite REN Moroccan Rose Otto Body Cream (£26) and the matching REN Moroccan Rose Otto Ultra-Moisture Oil (£32) for added hydration. I'll also be sure to pack a decent facial moisturiser like my La Roche-Posay Hydreane Légère (£14.50) which is great for sensitive skin and contains an SPF. Eyes need extra moisturising too and that's where my Clinique All About Eyes (£18) comes in super handy (it'll be great for the flight too!). Lips will be kept smooth with my Nuxe Rêve de Miel Lip Balm (£9.50). Finally hair will be tamed and conditioned with the excellent Dove Colour Radiance Leave-In Conditioning & Care Spray (£3.59).

I'll be sure to pack plenty of sun lotion to protect my fair skin. I like to use the face specific Sultan Face Moisturising Suncare SPF50+ (£4.50) to ensure I don't break out. The Nivea Sun Moisturising Spray SPF50+ (£6.30) is a great and practical on-the-go suncream which gives optimum sun protection for the body. Finally a good after sun treatment like this Nivea Sun Moisturising After Sun Spray (£4) is perfect for soothing any skin that does get a little red or burnt.

To fight any of the sweaty feeling you get in hot and humid conditions, aside from a decent deodorant (I'll be stocking up on my Sure Maximum Protection), my Lush Breath of Fresh Air Toner (£3.95) is great to spritz the face and body and cool things down.

To keep my skin clear and blemish free - Mumbai can be a pretty dirty place and I don't want any nasties clogging up my skin - cleansing is essential. On top of my usual skincare, a travel sized Bioderma Créaline 100ml (£4.50) and some cotton pads will be great for chucking in my bag for an impromptu facial cleanse. My La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo [+] (£15.50) will also be perfect for unclogging pores and making sure no dirt gets in my skin. Sanitiser and handcream are also essential to avoid transferring any of that dirt

Finally - the essential makeup bits! Aside from my usual kit, I'll be ensuring to pack a decent blotting powder like Soap and Glory's One Heck of a Blot Translucent Powder (£12) for its mattifying properties. A good moisturising concealer like Bourjois Healthy Mix (£7.49) is perfect for hotter weather as it won't cling to any dryness. A waterproof mascara is essential in sweaty conditions as it won't leak halfway down my face - I love Maybelline The Falsies Mascara (£7.99). Finally a nice moisturising pop of colour for the lips comes in the form of my favourite Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate (£8).

Any other tips of good products to bring on a hot and humid holiday?
